Barberino Val D'Elsa - Tuscany
The Barberino di Val d’Elsa farm of about 270 hectares, includes over 40 hectares of specialized vineyards, boasts more than four hundred years of high quality winemaking tradition. The cellars are located in the basement of Barberino, an ancient medieval castle, later a fortified village between the Val d’Elsa and Val di Pesa. Here the traditional Tuscan wines are entirely produced, refined, aged and bottled: Chianti, Chianti Classico and Vin Santo. From Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes an excellent Tuscan IGT red is produced, while a modern Tuscan IGT white (Montepetri) is obtained from a base of Chardonnay.
In the modern mill of the farm continues the centuries-old production of two extra virgin olive oils, considered by experts to be among the finest in the area including Laudemio.
