The Tassoni chinotto is the drink produced with Sicilian chinotti, grown on the slopes of Etna, in the province of Catania. The chinotto plant, Citrus myrtifolia, is the plant species that produces these small citrus fruits, similar in shape, size and color to the better known mandarin. It is produced with organic ingredients and Sicilian Chinotti from the enchanting Alcantara Valley where, between the sea and Etna, citrus fruits with unique properties and flavors grow.

Our Chinotto originates from an infusion obtained from the maceration of the fruits in alcohol and from natural aromas deriving from various spices, barks and bitter roots. Among the ingredients there is also a minimum percentage of organic lemon juice which, together with citric acid, gives the drink a balanced acidity. The dark color is given by caramelized organic cane sugar which gives the drink an amber brown color, less dark than other conventional drinks. We use a simple caramel, produced without the use of chemicals, more natural. Overall, the drink is very fragrant, with citrus and spicy hints of cloves and pepper. On the palate a moderate sweetness and acidity slowly give way to a slight but persistent bitter aftertaste.
